Breakout Session 1

9:50am-10:50am

   Don’t Be True to Yourself

   Location: Cabin 114

 Jesus and Politics

Location: Fire Pit Amphitheater

Speaker: Gary Derbyshire

If Jesus were alive today, which political party would he support? Would he even fit into a party? Does he even care about politics? This breakout will look at how the Bible talks about political issues and government and how we ought to think about politics as Christians.

 Can I Trust the Bible?

Location: Cabin 97

Speaker: Ryan Fields

We know the Bible is God’s Word, but what reason do I have to believe the Bible is ultimately trustworthy? In this breakout, we will discuss the origins of the Bible, how it was preserved, and why we have so many reasons to trust it.

What Are My Priorities?

Location: Zone

Speaker: John Pope

There are so many things today that vie for our attention, especially with how the internet gives us access to the whole world. How do I know what things I should prioritize? This breakout will ground us in the priorities God has for us and how to decide what things are most important.

    Forgiveness in an Unforgiving World

Location: Zone

Speaker: Anthony Cox

The world is a divided and unforgiving place. People often don’t reconcile relationships because bitterness has become a badge of honor. This breakout will explore the upside-down idea of forgiving those who we see as unforgivable.

Don’t Die on the Wrong Hills

Location: Worship Center Left (when facing stage)

Speaker: Andrew Marchbanks

Christians should all believe the same things, but why do so many of them disagree? How do we figure out what beliefs we should fight for and what things we should hold loosely? In this breakout, we will think through what those things are and the implications those have for our unity as Christians.

Finding Jesus in the Old Testament

Location: Worship Center Right (when facing stage)

Speaker: Dan Diffey

The Bible is one grand story, but it doesn’t always seem to read that way. How do we wrestle with Old Testament stories than don’t seem to line up with the person and teachings of Jesus? This breakout will give you tools to be able to see Jesus in all of Scripture.
